Developer Turns Black.

• Developer is oxidized from prolonged exposure to the air.
• Always make sure that developer is kept in an enclosed container.
• Excessive heat has been applied to the developer. This usually happens when the processor has been left on without going into stand-by and without introducing replenisher for long periods of time.
• Combination of the above.
  
  

• If any of the above has occurred in the processor, drain the chemistry from the processor, flush, and refill with fresh chemistry.
