High Contrast or Increased Film Speed

Darkroom:

• Verify Accuracy of Developer is Temperature set too High?
• Verify Integrity of Developer was it Properly Mixed?
• Verify Accuracy of Starter was it Added Properly?
• Verify Accuracy of Replenishment Rates set too High?
• Verify Recirculation Pumps in Processor.
• Verify that Incoming Water is not too Hot.
• Verify that Incoming Water is on cooling Developer.
• Verify Accuracy of Darkroom and Safelight.
• Verify Accuracy of Proper Film Speed with Proper Cassette Screens.

X-Ray:

• Verify Accuracy of X-Ray System. (Timer Off/Increase Exposure to Patient)
• Verify Focal Film Distance (Too Close to Patient)
• Verify Accuracy of kV. Under Penetration from too low kV.
• Verify Accuracy of Exposure Settings Based on Measurement of Patient.
• Verify Accuracy of Power Feeding X-Ray System. (Drop in incoming line voltage)
